About the Founder

This is by far the most courageous and liberating journey I have found for myself. Carving out my own path, committing so many wrongs and a few rights, listening to my inner voice and following my passion.

It is never easy to invent something. There is no guidance, and every turn you take you’re in the middle of nowhere. I trusted my instincts and my vision no matter where it took me. Anyone who hears my story knows it definitely is not the normal way of doing things, but it is my normal. I invested a lot of time, money, and emotions into Thaali. I created Thaali when I was at my all time low, I wanted something that defined my capabilities, I wanted to make everyone who believed in me proud, I wanted to be known on a first name basis, and I wanted to do all this in a sector I truly loved, where I knew the fire inside me would never give up.

Thaali cannot be compared to any other wedding planner on the market, it has redefined the way the Tamil bride looks at wedding planning. The planning process makes up 80% of wedding memories, if done right the bride is relieved of unnecessary stress, and partnered correctly with appropriate vendors that share her creativity. A bride is possibly the most innovative artisan in the world, constantly finding ways to stand out in the crowd, Thaali helps her execute her dream.

To put it correctly she can DREAM of her perfect wedding, she can PLAN for her dream wedding, and she can EXPERIENCE the fruit of all her hard work on her big day.

Thaali is more a brand of my love for myself and the people around me versus a product. Thaali is not about profits, it’s about my purpose, and once the world recognizes my purpose, the profits will follow. People whom I look up to with great respect and love like Nila from Beauty by Nila, Siva from Divinemethod Photography, Narayani Akka and Manchu Anna from Aalayaa and Zehra from Fine Cakes by Zehra have encouraged me to chase my dreams both creatively and courageously, simply by doing that themselves.

Who is the founder/owner of Thaali?

My name is Janithaa, a Toronto dweller born and raised in Scarborough. A spoiled little girl since birth, Labour Relations graduate by education and a bratty wife by marital status. I am the Founder/ Executive Author of Thaali. The FIRST EVER Tamil Hindu Wedding Planner.

But who’s the Jani on the other side of the planner?

I hear I’m pretty badass at everything I do. Whether it be my role as a business woman, friend, family, acquaintance or just plain me, no one does it like me, I know how to win hearts over, it’s one of my skill sets.
